Explore Connect
At Wondernest, we use the Tinkergarten method of teaching to inspire joy and curiosity in families through nature-based play. We aim to foster growth, connection, and lifelong learning for children and families in Montclair/Bloomfield and surrounding areas of Northern New Jersey.

At the core of Wondernest are weekly classes for children of all ages. We also have monthly community events, special partnerships, and much more.

Spring Classes
This spring we will be using Tinkergarten's 'empathy' curriculum! We have classes for explorers at every age, so you can find the right Wondernest class for your family!
For explorers 1.5-5 years old + a caregiver. This is our classic class using the Tinkergarten curriculum, and includes 9 weeks of class. One hour of facilited outdoor play and learning, a healthy snack and storytime, and at-home activity ideas for extension.
Two class options:
Tuesdays 9:30 (begins April 1, no class April 15)
Fridays 9:30 (begins April 4, no class April 18)
$199/season (9 weeks; 25% sibling discounts; prorated after beginning of the season)

UPDATE: CLASSES ARE AT CAPACITY
An outdoor play class for our youngest explorers! Designed using Tinkergarten methods for babies 6-18 months + a caregiver, this class includes 6 weeks of natural sensory play, connection, and joy! Each week we will spend time playing with familiar and new natural materials. Babies and adults will both explore and learn about how each baby enjoys playing, and why that kind of play is perfect for their development.
Wednesdays 12:00-12:45 (begins April 23)
$135/season (6 weeks; prorated after the beginning of the season)
Our class for bigger kids that uses the Tinkergarten curriculum! This class is for kids ages 5-9 years old + a caregiver. 6 weeks of classes, which include one hour of facilitated play time, story (no snack provided; please bring one from home if needed), and at-home activity ideas for extension.
Thursdays 4:30 (begins April 24)
$135/season (6 weeks; 25% sibling discount; prorated after the beginning of the season)

Free Family Hike
Each month we meet for a free, family-friendly hike in different locations! Our next hike will be Monday, May 5 at 10:00 am. We will meet at Mills Reservation in Cedar Grove (located off Normal Ave). RSVP via email or register below to join us!
Dino Adventure Pop-Up with
Play & Create
Join Wondernest Play and Otey Play for a Dinosaur Adventure! Experience guided outdoor play, sensory fun, and a roaring good time on Sunday, May 4 at 10:00am. Every child receives a dino-themed play dough kit to take home. Don't miss this exciting opportunity for $30/child + caregiver at Brookdale Park.
Saturday Classes with Bloomfield Parks & Rec
Wondernest Play is partnering with the Bloomfield Recreation Department to offer two Saturday class options at Oakeside Cultural Center. Details and registration can be found on their website:
